Multimedia Portion: Pinterest
For the multimedia portion of my project, I decided to create a Pinterest site entitled "Strive: Plato's Allegory of the Cave." Originally, I was making a poster that represented the main idea of my paper, which is to strive. After talking to a friend about my project, we decided that the modern day poster is really a Pinterest page. Pinterest is an electronic bulletin board where you can create different "boards" and put multiple "pins" on each board. I created five pins, which are starred on the site, that represent the main ideas that I focused on when finding the other pins that were added, which were the definition of strive, lifelong learning, what education is, knowledge, and, of course, the Allegory of the Cave. This Pinterest site would be used in a presentation of the paper. For example, if I were presenting the ideas in my paper to a group of students learning about Plato's writings, I would use the images on the Pinterest site to assist in explaining the ideas that I present in the accompanying paper.
